My Creative Week In Review

I decided to compile my latest creative projects in one post since summer is so busy. We have been working a lot on our deck and our container garden, as you saw in my last post. I decided I wanted some sheer curtains on the deck as well to shelter us a bit from the sun. I am in love with my deck now!

Spicing Things Up...

I have a client that has lots of spices but had a boring little plastic lazy susan to display them but she has all these fun cake plates so I decided I would jazz things up in her kitchen by combining the different cake plates to display her spices.

Her whole house has a vintage vibe so these fit so perfectly into her 1950's style house.

Lastly...but not least...my Chalkboard Obsession. My kids have been after me to change the chalkboard so here is the newest one!

Ahhhh...Summer is here! Our Potted Gardening.

We finally have had nice weather to get our pots filled with beautiful flowers and they have really filled out. I thought I would share them with you. Summer has finally hit Minnesota! YAY!

Our garden is mostly on the deck and our front door step. The places we see it most. I will take pictures when the corner garden start to bloom with zinnias. I love them because they are just so darn easy to grow and I have fresh cut flowers in so many colors all summer long.

Quick Chipboard Album

I have been so busy lately I haven't had any time to do something creative so I decided I would throw together a quick chipboard album with some new paper and embellishments I just bought. It only took me about 45 minutes and it is a nice little gift to give for a graduate or kids birthday party.

First beautiful weekend

Our first beautiful weekend of spring and it was a very eventful one here. On Saturday we did one of our favorite things...canoeing and fishing. We weren't sure if we would be able to get put since we had thunderstorms most of the morning but it cleared up enough and off we went to the river.

We caught our first fish of the season...Here is mine to the left...I wouldn't hold it so Scott had to. ha! ha! Mine was bigger!

We also did a little more planting and Scott is building flower boxes for the deck, which pictures of that will come next week when they are done.

The beautiful river with the leaves just starting to come out. Fishing wasn't great since it had been pouring all morning but by the time we got out on the river it started warming up and the sun started peeking out.

Then...the car stopped working and Scott had to figure out what was wrong with it now. It is like chasing ghosts in this car...and a couple hours later, it was working again. But...as you can see, Scott got a little dirty working on it. I cleaned the garage while he was working on the car. Boy...was it a mess!

Chalkboard Obsession Saturday

The weekend is a welcome relief...and springtime has finally come to Minneapolis! Yay! As you can see from my last post we have been busy planting flowers and getting out yard all cleaned up from a long....long...long winter.

Today our boat comes out of storage, lacrosse season has started and marching band has started and the busy parade schedule is up. So, I have decided to take a break from doing my Saturday linky party until fall so I have time to spend and create awesome memories with my beautiful family.

I look forward to sharing our creative endeavors with all my bloggin' friends. Stay tuned for a fun and creative summer!

Show off Thursday party!

I'm super excited to be Co-Host with Katie from Katherine's Corner! I love how blogging has opened my world to so many new, excited, talented and creative people! It also lets me share my creativity with everyone else as well. It's been a busy couple weeks with school ending soon, lacrosse started, marching band in session, and finally the weather getting nice out. Here has been our project the last couple days...I will also have a new chalkboard this Saturday, so make sure to come back and visit!

We love our pots on our oasis on the deck! And I have my pot full of lavender planted and placed right by my sliding door so I'll be able to enjoy the wonderful aroma when the doors are open... and my favorite brass duck that always hanging around our house somewhere!

Creative Saturday Party and Chalkboard Obsession

Wow....It's been two weeks since I've posted anything! That time has gone so quickly and looking back it has been a very busy two weeks. My daughter went to her first prom and we have also had a couple snow storms in there too and a couple 70 degree days. Crazy how the weather has been this year here in Minneapolis. Hopefully yesterday was the last cold day for us...at 35 degrees and snow...by Monday they are saying in the 60's and 70's from now on. Please let spring be here!

My daughter had a quote she wanted to post on the chalkboard this week, but I wasn't crazy about how it was worded. She wanted

"Today may not be my day, but this year will be."

and I want her to feel like every day is "her day" and it is amazing. So this one is for my daughter...Life is amazing!

Chalkboard Obsession & Creative Party Saturday!

Wow...I guess I was pretty busy this week with projects and posts. I guess that is what snow will do to you...trap you in the house.

It's been a crazy month for snow here in Minnesota and this week was the worst! It's been snowing since last Thursday...which a freak snowstorm in April isn't unheard of but a whole week of snow (over 12 inches) and it has been so cold.

I keep shouting..."WHERE IS SPRING???"

Each week I create a new chalkboard for my family. My huge chalkboard is located in our dining room, so everyone sees it all the time and it has become a big deal to the kids to see it each week and contemplate over what it means. Especially our 7 year old daughter, who isn't quite sure most of the time. I try to find something that fits with what is going on with our family or can inspire the kids to greatness.
